Waterways bike route

The Navile canal runs along the Silk Road which connected Bologna and Venice since 1100 Ac. In the Middle Ages, when Bologna was at the center of the Italian commerce, this canal would bring to the city dozens of boats with precious fabrics, salt and spices. Along the canal there would be mills, factories and entire communities working until world war II.

The footprints of this old life are still present on the Navile bike track, a touristic route away from traffic and the noise of the city, which in a few kilometers will take you in a magical atmosphere, full of trees, animals and old stories from the port in the city.
